Exterior Window Cleaning: Water-Fed Pole System
Allcare’s exterior window cleaning program may use a water-fed pole system for facades up to two storeys.
Crystal Clear
Here is how the system works: telescoping poles extend to reach upper-floor glazing from ground level. Purified water is fed through the pole to the brush head at the top. The brush agitates the glass surface, and the purified water rinses the glass clean. Because the water has had all minerals removed through a multi-stage filtration process, it leaves no residue behind as it dries. No squeegee streaks. No mineral deposits
This method is more thorough than traditional ladder-and-squeegee technique. The brush head reaches into frame channels and ledges that a flat squeegee blade cannot. It is also safer: the operator works from the ground rather than off a ladder, reducing the risk of fall incidents on your property.
Some buildings require a different approach. Heritage properties and facades with window screens cannot always accommodate a pole head. When screens block direct access to the glass, Allcare crews use traditional ladder technique with full safety rigging. A recent Vaughan client needed exterior window cleaning across three facilities, including a heritage property over 100 years old with screens on every window. Crews scheduled the work after hours and on weekends, combined pole and ladder methods across all three sites, and completed a full interior and exterior clean. That client is now on a recurring spring and fall seasonal program.
For the right building profile, the water-fed pole system produces a better result than conventional methods and does so with a better safety record.

Seasonal Window Cleaning Programs
Commercial glass needs cleaning at minimum two times per year to maintain the building’s presentation standard. Allcare recommends a seasonal cycle: spring (post-winter residue removal), summer (mid-year maintenance), fall (pre-winter clean before freeze sets in), and winter (where conditions allow: a mild day window clean prevents the heaviest build-up from setting permanently).
A seasonal program is the most cost-effective approach for most facilities. It locks in scheduling so the building is never in a degraded presentation state heading into a seasonal transition.
